Isla Uros y Taquile 1 Day
Description
In this tour after picking up our visitors from their hotels, we will leave in a comfortable boat to the island of the Uros where we will visit 2 to 3 islands, and then continue the journey to the natural island of Taquile (2 ½ hours of sailing) We will arrive approximately at noon. We will take a short walk to the upper part of the island (30 minutes), from where we will be able to appreciate the immensity of the lake and all its splendor, we will have lunch and we will know more about its textiles, inhabitants and customs.
We must mention that they were declared by UNESCO as “Cultural Patrimony of Humanity”. Spinning and weaving are mainly made by men, who begin to make this art from the age of eight. By means of these fabrics, Taquile inhabitants demonstrate their civil status depending on the colors, sizes and mode of use. In men the soleer wears a red and white chullo, while the married ones wear a red chullo. While single women use a chullo with a pompom larger and colored than the married.
