Description

In the time of the Incas there was a large network of roads and one mainly called Qhapaq Ñan, these united the territories of the Inca Empire to cross the rugged geography of the Andes, Hanging Bridges made of plant fibers were built, this complex technology has been transmitted from generation to generation and there is a single bridge that has been renewed annually to this day for more than 500 years uniting the past with the future; Located on the Apurimac River at 3700 meters above sea level, Q’eswachaka is the last Inca Suspension Bridge, where each year more than 1000 people from four communities gather to renew their structures, this ancestral ritual was recognized in the year 2013 by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Itinerary

Cusco – The Inca Bridge of Q’eswachaka – The Circuit of the 4 lagoons – Cusco

We will start our adventure starting at 4:30 in the morning with the pick-up of our passengers from their corresponding Hotels / Hostels and once the whole group is concentrated at 5:00 am, we will begin our tour in our tourist transport through of some districts of Cusco. Our first stop will be in Combapata, where we will stop to use the hygienic services and enjoy the local breakfast (2 glasses of quinoa and a bread with cheese).

Then we will go to the viewpoint of Combapata continuing with the tour we will pass through the district of Yanaoca is one of the eight districts of the province of Canas in Cusco. Then we will continue our tour for another hour and we will arrive at the Q’ewe district where the famous Inca bridge of “Q’eswachaka” is located, which is built with vegetable fiber and has a length of 28.67 meters. The surprising thing is that it is rebuilt once a year in the month of June by four local communities, in this place we will have a time to explore Q’eswachaka and the surrounding area, while your guide will tell you the history of this Inca engineering work .

We will continue our trip for another hour and we will appreciate the Lagunas of Pampamarca, Asnacqocha, Acopia and Pomacanchi where we will stop to make our lunch “Picnic” observing a great amount of regional flora and fauna experiencing an enriched Andean culture ending our lunch “Picnic “Returning to Cusco we will make a stop at the Portal de Rumipunku to finally reach Cusco in our tourist transport for an average of 2 hours, arriving at approximately 4:30 pm.
